The Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist are received by children in the second grade.  Preparation for the sacraments is a two-year program, and 80% attendance in both Grades 1 and 2 is expected.

Two mandatory Parent Meetings are held for each sacrament.  Information about the sacrament is given, and at least one parent must attend each meeting.  For your convenience, they are held at the same time as PSR classes:  Sunday morning, 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. and Wednesday evening, 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.  See PSR Calendar.

An original baptismal certificate for the student must be provided at the first Parent Meeting.  It will be copied and returned.  This is not required of children who were baptized at St. Peter’s.

Confirmation is a two-year program for students in Grades 9 and 10.  Eighty percent attendance is expected each year, and the student is confirmed at the end of Grade 10.  Classes are offered both Sunday morning and Wednesday evening.

Parents are required to attend two Parent Meetings the year their child will be confirmed.  All information concerning the sacrament will be given at these meetings, and at least one parent must attend each meeting.  See PSR Calendar.

An original baptismal certificate for the student must be provided at the first Parent Meeting.  It will be copied and returned.  This is not required of students who were baptized or received First Eucharist at St. Peter’s.

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Children program is available to school-age children who have not been baptized or who have completed second grade and have not yet received the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.

A Special RCIC Religious Education class is available during which the children are prepared to receive these sacraments.
